Matt Hurst, formerly of Nielsen Buzzmetrics, put up a post today explaining why Influence Is Not Authority. The explanation could benefit from a David Armano visual, but we can't all be graphic designers. I've thought through these issues before as well, with specific focus on blog analytics.
I think both influence and authority are important, along with attention - which is why the M20 takes all three metrics into account.

I cannot believe you are going to maintain 3 blogs..... I am also interested to see where it goes. Btw you may need some branding :)
Do we have a M20 button that we can import to our blogs?

LOL I absolutely need better branding! I've asked a graphic designer friend to put something together badge-wise...hopefully will have something soon.

I'm not sure having an Armano 'visual' has much of a benefit - see my post on fidelity in infographics: http://datamining.typepad.com/data_mining/2006/10/info_graphics_a.html
